Portrait of John E. Markle, M.D., circa 1880 ... while Dr. Markle is often associated with Randolph County (note that there is a later photograph portrait and biography in the 1894 biography collection posted in the Randolph County feature) he was a native of Henry County and is the namesake for the town of Markle.
