A Few Facts About Montgomery County
  • Montgomery County is divided into 11 Civil Townships as follows: Brown, Clark, Coal Creek, Franklin, Madison, Ripley, Scott, Sugar Creek, Union, Walnut and Wayne
  • Montgomery County began its official existence March 1, 1823. 
  • Crawfordsville is the County Seat. 
  • According to the Society of Indiana Pioneers, an individual was a pioneer of our county if they resided here on or before December 31, 1830.
  • Indiana automobile License Plates issued in Montgomery County start with the prefix 54 because it is the fifty-fourth county in alphabetical listing.
