Lew Wallace Study & Library

General Lew Wallace was a lawyer, Indiana State Senator, General in the Civil War and the author of Ben-Hur. In 1895, he designed his private study, a combination of Greek, Roman and Byzantine architecture, which is now known as the Ben-Hur Museum. The building houses artifacts and memorabilia from his lifetime as well as items relating to the book Ben-Hur and subsequent plays and movies.

The museum is located at Pike Street and Wallace Avenue in Crawfordsville and is open 1-4:30 Tuesdays through Sundays during the months of April, May, September and October. During June through August the museum is open from 10 to 4:30 as well as weekends in March and November (1-4:30).
