I believe this is a photograph of the Judah Covered Bridge. High magnification of the portal shows the date 1885, however, the last number seems to have been changed. Also, barely visible are what appear to be the words Kennedy Bro. By examining the locations of all the bridges built by the Kennedy Brothers I've concluded that this is a very old picture of the Judah Covered Bridge. Of particular interest is that the structure never seems to have had the trademark scroll work and brackets which generally mark a Kennedy structure. This image was found in the collection of M. L. Davies, however, I believe it predates his work and is probably something he acquired during his research (note that the original image was 2 inches square) ... click here for biography -- Special thanks to the family of Mr. Davies for providing an extensive collection for presentation on this site, which will, I'm sure, help perpetuate their father's passion for covered bridge preservation!
