H. Adams, an editor and financier and manufacture, was born in Grand
Rapids, Ohio on July 19, 1860, and learned the printers trade. At 16 he published
a weekly paper in Edwardsport, Indiana and later a paper in Lancaster, Ohio.
He purchased the "Vincennes Commercial" in 1882 and has been the Editor and
proprietor since. Mr. Adams is a member of the Board of Trustees for Vincennes
University, was Postmaster for Vincennes twice, was Chairman of the Republican
Congressional Committee, a member of the Advisory Board for the Republican
State Commission and Chairman of the Legislative Committee that secured the
$125,000 appropriated for Vincennes University. He is a resident of Vincennes,
Indiana.
