| The major cities and towns of Franklin County are Batesville,
Brookville, Cedar Grove, Laurel, Mount Carmel and Oldenburg. This feature
is part of a statewide project focusing on all 92 Indiana counties and is
forever a work in progress.
The goal of this endeavor is to provide rare primary source information to
individuals interested in researching Indiana history and genealogy. Due
to the availability of these old documents, the content presented for each
county varies; however, all counties have multiple historical retrospects,
maps, images from vintage postcards and a place titled Our Stories
for you to record the achievements of your Pioneer ancestor.
This project currently has posted online for all Indiana Counties
 files (pages, images,
etc.) including more than 
early biographies with 
portraits,  miscellaneous
biographical extracts, 
history related photos, 
maps and  graphic
representations of land patentee documents.
A significant amount of the information posted is accessible to all visitors;
however, some of the information is available only to members. Like all
historical organizations, the nominal membership fee charged for access is
used to support the maintenance and continued growth of this organization,
and specifically, all the features of the CHPS web site. |
