OFFUTT FORD COVERED BRIDGE

The Offutt Ford Covered Bridge crosses the Little Blue River in Sections 16 and 17, Township 14 North, and Range 9 East, 3 miles northeast of, Rush County, on Offutt Bridge Road, which is just off of County Road 300 North. This single span Burr Arch Truss structure has a length of 85 feet, or 101 feet including the 8-foot overhang at each end, with a portal clearance 16 feet wide by 13 feet 6 inches high. . Built it in 1884 by the Kennedy Brothers, a restoration was completed in 1996. Though no historical marker is present, the Offutt Ford Covered Bridge was added to the National Register of Historical Places in 1983 was listed in the 1972 World Guide as #14-70-02.
