DEER'S MILL COVERED BRIDGE

The Deer's Mill Covered Bridge crosses Sugar Creek and is located next to Shades State Park, north of Waveland, in Section 11, Township 17 North, and Range 6 West, Montgomery County. This double span Burr Arch Truss structure has a length of 275 feet, or 311 feet including the 18-foot overhang at each end, is 16 feet wide and 12 feet 6 inches high. Built in 1878 by Joseph J. Daniels, the road bypassed Deer's Mill Covered Bridge in 1968 and she was listed as #14-54-03 in the 1977 World Guide.
