Actually there were 2 structures known as the Hazelton Railroad Covered Bridge, neither of which is standing. Joseph J. Daniels built both structures across the White River in Section 16, Township 1 North, Range 10 West, where they connected the counties of Knox and Gibson. The first structure called the Hazelton Railroad Covered Bridge was a four span Burr Arch Truss structure of about 600 built in 1853. Listed in the World Guide (according to G. Gould's 1977 list) as #14-42-03; the bridge was replaced in 1868. The second Hazelton Railroad Covered Bridge was constructed to the same specifications as the first. Built in 1868, it was listed as #14-42-04 in the World Guide (according to G. Gould's 1977 list) and the date of its demise is unknown.
