The Stockheughter Covered Bridge, also known as the Enochsburg Covered Bridge, crosses Salt Creek in section 10, Township 10 North, and Range 11 East, just northeast of Enochsburg on County Road 640 South, Franklin County. This single span Howe Truss structure has a length of 92 feet, or 100 feet including the 4-foot overhang at each end, with a portal clearance 13 feet wide by 13 feet high. Built in 1887 by the Smith Bridge Company, plans are being made to restore the Stockheughter Covered Bridge as a TEA Grand of $500,000 was received for this purpose in 2002. Jim Barker was selected as the engineer for the project. Enochsburg was named in honor of Enoch Abraham who, with Mike Powers, was the first settler of that town. This structure was also added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002 and was listed as #14-24-05 in the 1972 World Guide.
