Actually, there have been 2 covered bridges bearing the name Aurora Railroad Covered Bridge, neither of which is standing. It doesn't appear that these bridges shared the same specific location, however, Gould identified both as having been in Section 32, Township 5 North, and Range 1 West, Dearborn County. The First Aurora Railroad Covered Bridge crossed South Fork of Hogan Creek and was 300 feet in length utilizing the McCallum Inflexible Arch Truss. Built in about 1855 by the Ohio & Mississippi Railroad, the first Aurora Railroad Covered Bridge was listed as #14-15-12 in the World Guide (according to G. Gould's 1977 list) and the date of its demise is unknown. I believe that this structure was actually located in Section 31. The Second Aurora Railroad Covered Bridge crossed North Fork of Hogan Creek and was also 300 feet in length; however, this structure was constructed utilizing the Howe Truss. Built by the Ohio & Mississippi Railroad in 1868 the second Aurora Railroad Covered Bridge lost in 1887 and has been listed in the World Guide (according to G. Gould's 1977 list) as #14-15-10.
