The Clifty Covered Bridge is no longer standing it originally crossed Clifty Creek on or near County Road 100E (also known as S. Gladstone Avenue) Bartholomew County. This single span Howe Truss structure originally had a length of 145 feet, with a portal clearance 16 feet 6 inches wide by 14 feet high. In the February 1938 "Indiana History Bulletin" Robert B. Yule and Richard C. Smith assigned the designation "fu" to this Covered Timber Bridge located (original) between Section 5, Township 8 North, Range 6 East, 2 miles southeast of Columbus.
