NEW HAVEN COVERED BRIDGE

The New Haven Covered Bridge is no longer standing … it crossed the Maumee River in Allen County. This double span structure was about 300 feet long and may have utilized a Howe Truss; built in about 1875 the date of its demise is unknown. George Gould identified a World Guide number of 14-02-04 for the New Haven Covered Bridge in his book "Indiana Covered Bridges Thru the Years," published in 1977 by the Indiana Covered Bridge Society, Inc. The structure was located in Sections 1 and 2, Township 30 North, and Range 13 East. The red star on the small map above represents the approximate location of this structure.
