BALL FARM COVERED BRIDGE

The Ball Farm Covered Bridge is no longer standing it crossed St. Mary's River in Adams County and was located in Congressional Township 28 North, Range 14 East, and Sections 17 & 20. Accordingly, this places the structure on West 900 North Road where it crosses the river at the intersection of North 200 West. Erected in about 1881 by Alpheus Wheelock & Company, after having first been pre-assembled in Toledo, this Smith Truss structure was 130 feet long. While here are no records detailing when the Ball Farm Covered Bridge was lost, its original cost was approximately $2,470 and the common numerical identifier for the structure is 14-01-06.
