BALL FARM COVERED BRIDGE

The Ball Farm Covered Bridge is no longer standing … it crossed St. Mary's River in Adams County and was located in Congressional Township 28 North, Range 14 East, and Sections 17 & 20. Accordingly, this places the structure on West 900 North Road where it crosses the river at the intersection of North 200 West. Erected in about 1881 by Alpheus Wheelock & Company, after having first been pre-assembled in Toledo, this Smith Truss structure was 130 feet long. While here are no records detailing when the Ball Farm Covered Bridge was lost, its original cost was approximately $2,470 and the common numerical identifier for the structure is 14-01-06.
